Ahmed later lost his mother and father in his childhood and moved to the city of Yesi with his older sister. He studied there with famous Sufi elders such as Arsalan Baba and Baheduddin Scabi. He became a disciple of Arsalan Baba and served him for 16 years. When his sheikh died, Ahmed Yaswi moved to Bukhara.
