Yavuz Sultan Selim | Turgut New TV Series 2021 Release Date | Latest News
The cast of the upcoming 2021 TV Series Yavuz Sultan Selim, has almost been completed. The TV Series is about the Ninth Sultan of the Ottoman Empire, Sultan Selim I, the youngest son of Sultan Bayezid II. In the latest statement made by Bilal Kalyoncu, producer of the Yavuz Series, it is mentioned that the shooting will begin in Feburary 2021 in Amasya City which is also the birthplace of the Sultan Selim I. Bilal Kalyoncu also mentioned that the upcoming series will be consisting of forty episodes with three seasons in total. Exxen, which is the newly established digitial media platform in Turkey has been chosen for the publication of Yavuz Series.

Who was Yavuz Sultan Selim
Selim I (also known as Selim the Grim or Selim the Resolute) was born on 10th October 1470 CE in Amasya, Turkey. He was the son of Sultan Bayezid II and Gulbahar Hatun. He married Valide Sultan (1520) and Hafsa Hatun Sultan (Turkish: Ayse Hafsa Sultan), who died in 1534, mother of Suleiman I. Cengiz Coskun, who played the most anticipated role of Turgut Alp in overwhelming series Dirilis Ertugrul, will now play the main role of Sultan Selim I in Yavuz Series. Cengiz Coskun was also starred in Fetih 1453 and Malazgirt 1071 (For knowing its release date click here). The role of Hafsa Sultan, wife of Sultan Selim I, will be played by Hazal Filiz Kucukkose. She has also been starred in many imprtant TV series such as Mehmed: Bir Cihan Fatihi and Kara Sevda, Zehmeri.
There is another good news for the fans of Nurettin Sonmez (Bamsi Bey) from Dirilis Ertugrul and Kurulus Osman. The news is that the role of the greatest enemy of Sultan Selim I, Shah Ismail will be played by Nurettin Sonmez.
